Some common questions

What do I wear?

Clothing

Whatever feels lovely and comfortable. Stretchy yoga pants, shorts, singlets, t.shirts are all fine. 

Footwear

  • Ballet - Ballet shoes are helpful. Flesh colour canvas or leather split sole shoes are great. Non grippy socks are also fine to begin with.
    Bloch Ballet Shoes

  • Tap - Tap is much more fun with tap shoes! Bloch or Capezio are good brands. I have a few second hand pairs if you prefer to hire them for a few weeks before purchasing.

  • Mindful Movement - bare feet or socks (with grip are best)

I am in my fifties/sixties/etc ... am I too old?

No!

These classes take our changing bodies into consideration as we each work safely with our particular age and stage with respect and compassion!

I am not very fit, will I be ok?

Yes!

All levels of fitness will benefit from these classes - you are invited to listen to your body and only do what feels good. There are different levels of intensity offered and you are always welcome to take a break.

And of course you will find that your fitness increases with regular attendance!

I am not your classic dancer size/shape, will I feel out of place?

No!

ECD is truly a safe and inclusive place where all bodies are valued whatever size or shape they are. The classes are about becoming and being comfortable with your body, without comparing or judging yourself against others.

I can’t attend every week, can I still register?

Yes!

The term pass or the course cost is the cheapest way to attend, but the drop in rate is best if you cannot attend the majority of the lessons!
